Best Bike Ride of Your Life?
FM Radio Bike Ride with the Black Label Bicycle Club. Everyone strapped radios onto their bikes and were taken on a ride across Brooklyn led by a cargo bike carrying an FM transmitter we all tuned into. There were multiple stops in well-scouted locations along the ride that featured live music, surprises, sunset views, and total under bridge darkness.
Tell Us About Your Bikes?
2017 All-City Thunderdome – All City Crank & hubs, Velocity wheels, and Nitto bars <3
2016 Salsa Marrakesh – Kind of an impulse buy after I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, still haven’t taken it on the ride it was made for… Can’t wait for that trip though!
2012 Raleigh Capri – My road bike I bought off the owners wife at Silk Road Cycles
FBM Sword – my work bike, single speed with a coaster brake that I am always talking about setting up differently than how I bought it off craigslist, but still haven’t got around to changing anything except for adding a front rack.
What do you do to pay the bills? Do you have a side hustle?
I have a collection of about 6 side hustles, does the job to pay the bills! I run a small Screen Printing business @sharkeyecreative, I deliver Pizza for Archie’s in Bushwick, I take photos at parties under the name Le Noize @ilovelenoize, I take random graphic design & illustration jobs (Spin Peaks branding and Skinsuits are an example of that), I run some social media accounts for people, and pick up some odd jobs here and there.
What are you most excited about for this season?
Coming into this season with one year behind us! We learned so much as a team and I experienced so much growth. I am looking forward to approaching everything with a little more consciousness and building on what has started!
When and Where did you learn to ride a bike?
I got my first real bike for my 5th birthday. I remember that bike (dad had found and painted maroon for me – I loved all shades of purple) I loved that bike training wheels and all. Dad decided to take my training wheels off I crashed in our driveway and never wanted to ride it again. I don’t remember the time frame of getting back on but I do remember a lot of the bike rides with dad up through the old landfill near the house I grew up in, always a cool adventure.
